Writing Life With Fiona
Wow, it has been a while since I have updated any information on my book status. So much has happened with life that it has gotten away from me. I will say that it is starting to calm down some. I have made significant progress on my next book that I am hoping to get out before the end of the year. For all interested parties, this one is a bit different than my last one. Way more colorful and playful. Also, just like all my other work, I will be including a mistake within this book. I would love to hear who finds it. It can be like a mini scavenger hunt.
We have all heard the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” In my case, I grew my own lemons, both figuratively and literally. Lemons, although they can be very sour, they can also be very sweet and have great nutritious benefits. I hope you all make your own lemonade or produce your own lemons at some point in your life. It is not only very rewarding it is also very fulfilling.
I would love to hear some of your own stories on how you created your own lemons. Mine begins with my own love of writing when I was in middle school. The stories I would think up and all the notes I would pass to other classmates. Being read to was one of the most joyous things when I was little because it meant that my parents took the time to be with me. To focus on something that allowed me to calm down and listen. If you have ever had a racing mind, those moments where your mind is not hectic feels like bliss.
That is what my first book, Making A Wish, is meant for. It is meant to be read to a child, or to have a child help with reading. The poems allow for easy listening and the message within the book gives meaning to the child or children that they are loved.
My next book will focus more on the playful aspect of children and I hope that you all will enjoy it. Until then, “Never be afraid to make magical mistakes.”
